Mary Taylor Contemporary Artist

Information

Mixed media semi abstracted landscapes, paintings, prints and cards. exhibiting with Sarah Trewhella's at her studio at Mudgeon Vean, St Martin.

Two artist friends, Mary Taylor and Sarah Trewhella sharing Mudgeon Vean Studio.

The foundation of Mary’s work is the inspiration she gains from the unique Cornish landscape. Her work develops gradually from sketches, memories and the spontaneous mark marking, and by the method of deconstructing and reassembling with mixed media she aims to create an harmonious feeling with a sense of energy, but retaining the element of structure through line and colour without losing all recognition. She feels it is important for the viewer to interpret her work through their own perception but still feel a sense of place in the finished work.

Sarah produces original framed and U/F paintings and cards, Glass and Mixed media. She produces work derived from her interest in life and death cycles, the seasons and natural plant and animal forms. The beautiful environments of the Lizard and Helford River areas inspire her work. There are several other Open Studios nearby if you are following the Open Studios Trail.

Gear Farm Pasties are en route from Mawgan then the beautiful National Trust walk to Tremayne Quay, which is situated just before Mudgeon Vean Studio, in An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are both worth a visit. Helford Village with waterside Public House -The Shipwright Arms and The Prince of Wales at Newtown are also a short drive away.
