25th May – 2nd June 2024 Creative Kernow

Araminta Greaves Fibreista

Information

Aladdin's cave of natural fibre and hand spun yarns for spinners, felters knitters and weavers. Also my own felt art and handwoven, one off wearables.

Inspired by the North Cornish coast nearby, the wildness of Bodmin Moor on my doorstep and the sheep in the fields that surround me, I create both wet felt and needle felt pictures for sale as originals, prints and cards. I am happy to undertake commissions if you have something in particular that you would like.
I weave unique cloth for scarves, wraps, clothes and homewares on my Saori loom and shawls on my triloom.

My Saori loom will be set up for visitors to try their hand at weaving, contributing to a piece of cloth that will be my version of a Visitor Book. Last year’s beautiful cloth will be on display too, so if you visited and wove with me in 2023 you can come back and view what you helped to create. Visitors will also be welcome to try their hands at weaving on a peg loom or spinning yarn on a wheel or drop spindle.

The Spinnery will be like an Aladdin’s cave full of beautiful natural fibres for spinners and felters and funky hand spun art yarn for adventurous knitters, crocheters and weavers. I will have lots of carded batts as well as hand dyed braids including some beautiful and very local fibre for you to choose from.

My Spinnery can be found in my garden at the foot of Roughtor on the edge of Bodmin Moor. I am perfectly placed for any visitors who would like to combine their interest in arts and crafts with a bracing walk up to Roughtor and Showery Tor as the car park for the moor is just 500 yards along the lane.
