I am a multi-disciplinary artist expressing my creativity through clay, paint, collage, jewellery, photography, stitching, bookmaking, music and performance. My ceramic sculptures are mainly figurative exploring textures and patina. Recently I have been drawing and recording local landscape and reflecting on how, when I enter a landscape, I become part of that landscape … what that means and looks like.
The ‘angel’ shape has been with me for many years. I wonder if these forms are part of my soul reaching out to others? Exploring emotions and often delving into uncomfortable places inform emerging artworks. Returning to the angels, the Divine Feminine energy inspires me, as well as spending time in my garden and surrounding landscape. I offer images and forms with the desire of bringing joy, love and hope.
My studio and gallery are surrounded by a Quiet Garden which is open all year for people seeking peace, stillness and restoration. Visitors will receive a warm welcome … the kettle is always on. The house was built at the turn of 1900s as a mine captain’s residence and is 0.25 miles from the South West Coast Path. The Queens Arms Pub is 2 minutes walk away.
